Dear Parents and Guardians:
Thank you so much for your incredible turnout for Parent/Teacher conferences. You help make our school great through your support of your children and their teachers. We have had a fantastic first quarter with many great achievements. I hope you noticed the yellow stars and Blackhawk heads in the hall when you visited as these represent our students’ accomplishments this quarter. As the year goes on, the stars and Blackhawk heads will continue to populate. We have a tremendous group of students!
As we proceed through this quarter, I would love to see even more of our students achieve their AR goal. We had a great start with 66% of all students in grades 2-5 achieving their comprehension, point and non-fiction reading goals. I would like to see us raise this to at least 80% of all students. During conferences, your child’s teacher provided you with information on being able to check on your child’s progress in Renaissance Learning (AR) and I want to encourage you to follow your child as they progress through the quarter and encourage them to read 10-20 minutes each night.
If you have not taken the time to complete the district survey, we would really like your feedback, so please take the opportunity to fill it out by going to the district website and clicking on the link, click on the link in the email we sent you last week or request a paper copy from the office. We appreciate your feedback.
